Where is your secret place; or did you ever have one?

# New Mercies Daily!

MESSAGE TITLE:
WHERE IS YOUR SECRET PLACE; OR DID YOU EVER HAVE ONE?

DATE: 03/02/25

CARRIER OF GOD’S WORD.

SCRIPTURE REFERENCE:
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust. Surely He shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.”
(Psalm 91:1-3)

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

“A person without a secret place is like a city without walls-defenseless, vulnerable, and a target for destruction”!

INTRODUCTION:

The secret place is not just a place of prayer; it is a place of divine refuge, a fortress where battles are won before they even begin. Yet, many have abandoned it. Some people once carried its fire, but today, it is either dead or seen as unnecessary. Others, including Churches refuse to acknowledge it at all, believing they can survive without it.

But Scripture makes it clear-only those who dwell in the secret place enjoy divine protection, deliverance, and victory. If your secret place is missing, your shield is gone! Where is your secret place-or did you ever had one? Without it, you are exposed. Return before it’s too late!

MESSAGE:

There is a cry from the Spirit today: Where is your secret place? Some of you once had it-you used to weep in His presence, you used to pray until the atmosphere shifted, you used to fast, not because of problems, but because you longed for Him. But where is it now?

I may not be wrong when I say that some of you once had a secret place, but sin made you abandon it. The fire you once carried has been extinguished. The hunger you once had is gone. You know it, yet you don’t know how to return. You used to wake up in the night to pray, now you struggle to say a five-minute prayer.

For others, the truth is even more dangerous-you never had a secret place. You are active in church, you know the right scriptures to quote, you can even preach, but you do not know God intimately! You have never built a personal altar. You have never experienced the kind of prayer that breaks chains and birth destinies.

David understood this truth, and that is why he won all his battles. He was not the strongest man in Israel, nor was he without enemies, but he was a man of the secret place. He said in Psalm 27:5, “For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion: in the secret of His tabernacle shall He hide me.” David knew that victories are not won on the battlefield first-they are won in the presence of God!

Every time David sought God before battle, he prevailed. But the one time he stayed away from the secret place and became distracted he fell into sin with Bathsheba.-
( 2 Samuel 11:1-4).
When you abandon the secret place, you become vulnerable to attacks, both spiritual and physical.

The enemy is always looking for believers who have strayed from their place of covering! Luke 22:31 says, “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you as wheat.” That very night, Peter denied Jesus three times (Luke 22:54-62), just as Jesus had predicted.

The enemy is watching you. He knows when you have strayed from your secret place. He knows when your altar is cold. If your secret place is empty, you have no shield, no covering, no power!
Who told you it was okay to survive without intimacy with God? A person without a secret place is a Christian waiting to be destroyed!

Listen to me: Life is spiritual! If you have no secret place, you have no defense, no power, no direction! The enemy will not wait for you to find time-he will strike when you are weakest!

Today is the 3rd day of the month-if you truly desire to succeed, return to your secret place before it’s too late!

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Oh Lord, take me back to my secret place! I cannot survive without Your presence! Set my heart on fire again, in the name of Jesus! Every dryness, every coldness, every distance I have created between us-Lord, break it! Restore my hunger for You before I lose everything! In Jesus’ Mighty Name!

2. Father, let every power of distraction, sin, and spiritual laziness keeping me away from Your presence be destroyed by fire, in the name of Jesus! Holy Spirit, stir up a fresh hunger in me! Let my soul long for You, let my heart burn for You again! Revive me, Lord, and let my spirit be aflame with passion for You, in Jesus’ Mighty Name!

3. Holy Spirit, invade my life again! Fill me till I overflow! Tear down every wall separating me from Your presence! Rekindle my prayer altar, ignite my spiritual fire, and let my secret place become my fortress! I refuse to be vulnerable to the enemy-restore me before it is too late, in the name of Jesus! Amen.
