SCRIPTURE TEXTS:
Numbers 32:23 – “But if you do not do so, then take note, you have sinned against the Lord; and be sure your sin will find you out.”
MESSAGE:
There are issues you have swept under the carpet, thinking time will heal them. There are habits, relationships, and hidden sins you have justified, excused, and sins you have ignored, assuming they won’t matter. But hear me, child of God-TIME DOES NOT HEAL SIN! TIME DOES NOT ERASE DISOBEDIENCE!
What you refuse to confront today will become the sword that cuts you down tomorrow!
•The secret compromise you are tolerating today will be the reason for your downfall tomorrow!
•That bitterness you refuse to let go of will corrupt your spirit and poison your destiny!
•That ungodly relationship you keep defending will be the reason for your tears in the future!
I have seen men who thought they could manage sin, and in the end, sin managed them! I have seen parents ,ministers who refused to rebuke evil, and in the end, evil consumed them!
BIBLICAL EXAMPLES
1. SAMSON – PLAYED WITH SIN UNTIL IT KILLED HIM
Samson was anointed but reckless!
•He kept playing with Delilah despite the warnings.
•He ignored the signs until he lost his strength, his sight, and his destiny! (Judges 16:20-21).
•That secret sin you are refusing to let go -one day, it will cost you everything!
2. ELI – REFUSED TO REBUKE HIS SONS UNTIL IT BROUGHT DESTRUCTION
Eli was a priest, but he tolerated the sins of his sons, Hophni and Phinehas.
They desecrated the temple, stole from the offerings, and lived in immorality.
Eli KNEW what they were doing but refused to correct them!
One day, God’s judgment came-the two sons DIED in battle, the Ark was captured, and Eli himself fell and died! (1 Samuel 2:12-36, 1 Samuel 4:17-18).
What you refuse to correct today will correct you in ways you cannot handle tomorrow!
3. BALAAM – LOVED MONEY MORE THAN GOD UNTIL GOD STRUCK HIM
Balaam was warned by God not to curse Israel, but he loved money more than obedience.
He still went with Balak’s messengers, hoping for a reward.
On the way, his donkey spoke to him!
God had to intervene to stop him from perishing (Numbers 22:22-35).
What is that thing God has warned you about? You keep saying, “God understands”—but when judgment comes, will you escape?
4. KING SAUL – REFUSED TO COMPLETELY OBEY GOD AND LOST HIS DESTINY
Saul was chosen by God, but he had a habit of partial obedience.
God commanded him to destroy the Amalekites completely–
(1 Samuel 15:3).
But Saul spared King Agag and the best of the animals.
When confronted, he gave excuses instead of repenting!
Because of his disobedience, God rejected him as king!
(1 Samuel 15:26-28).
•Years later, the Amalekites he spared came back and attacked Israel!
•What Saul refused to destroy later destroyed him-an Amalekite killed him in battle!
(2 Samuel 1:5-10).
•What is that sin, habit, or disobedience that you keep postponing? Deal with it now before it deals with you!
DEEP REFLECTION
What is that sin, habit, or situation you are refusing to deal with?
Bitterness? Addiction? Pride? Secret sin? A wrong relationship?
•WHAT YOU TOLERATE WILL DOMINATE!
•WHAT YOU IGNORE WILL GROW!
PRAYER POINTS
1.Oh Lord, by Your mercy, deliver me from every hidden sin that is waiting to destroy me! Whatever I have refused to deal with, expose it before it destroys me! For Your word says, “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me” (Psalm 66:18). May my prayers not be hindered, in the name of Jesus!
2.Father, every evil I have tolerated in my life, family, and destiny-by Your fire, I uproot it NOW! Let no secret sin, no hidden iniquity, no compromise have a foothold in my life! For You have said, “The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous” (Proverbs 15:29). Draw me closer to You, O Lord! In the name of Jesus!
3.Lord, I reject and renounce every demonic trap set to derail my destiny! Every habit, relationship, or ungodly attachment that is leading me to destruction-BREAK BY FIRE! For Your word warns that “The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord” (Proverbs 15:8). May my prayers not be an offense before You, in the name of Jesus!
