…reaffirm Confidence in Ibritam’s Political Leadership
By Ime Silas
Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ukanafun Local Government Area have congratulated the President-elect; His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory at the Presidential poll. The APC Stakeholders who stated this in a communiqué issued at their meetings held separately on 28th April, 1st and 6th May, 2023, also congratulated the Senator-elect for Akwa Ibom Northwest Senatorial District; His Excellency, Chief Godswill Obot Akpabio CON on his victory, stressing that they were in full support of his Senate Presidency aspiration.
The Stakeholders, in the Communiqué also congratulated the State Chairman of the APC; Obong Stephen Ntukekpo on the victories of three National Assembly Members-elect and passed a Vote of Confidence on Obong (Barr.) Freedom Ibritam as the APC Political Leader in Ukanafun.
The Communiqué read thus in full “At the meeting of Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ukanafun Local Government Area held separately on 28th April, 2023, 1st May, 2023 and 6th May, 2023, the Stakeholders resolved and hereby issue the following communiqué:
“The APC Stakeholders congratulated the President-elect and Vice President-elect; Their Excellencies, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Sen. Ibrahim Shettima, respectively on their overwhelming victory at the Presidential election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the 25th February, 2023, and wished them a successful and peaceful inauguration, come May 29, 2023.
“The APC Stakeholders also congratulated the Senator-elect for Akwa Ibom Northwest (Ikot Ekpene) Senatorial District; His Excellency, Distinguished Sen. Godswill Obot Akpabio, CON on his well-deserved and landslide victory at the polls conducted by INEC on the 25th February, 2023.
“The Stakeholders also threw their weight behind Sen Akpabio’s ambition to emerge as Senate President, expressing their confidence that as a former Commissioner, former Governor, former Senate Minority Leader and former Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Senator-elect has all the requisite experience to lead the 10th National Assembly.
“The Ukanafun APC Stakeholders also felicitated with the Akwa Ibom State Chairman of the APC; Obong Stephen Ntukekpo over the victories of three (3) National Assembly candidates of the Party at the just-concluded elections: first time in the history of the APC in the state.
“While stressing their strong belief that more victories shall be recorded, and stolen mandates recovered for the party through the numerous pending cases before the Election Petitions Tribunals sitting in the state, the Ukanafun APC Stakeholders also passed a Vote of confidence on the State Executive Committee of the Party ably led by Obong Ntukekpo. The Stakeholders predicated their confidence on the fact that with the victories recorded by the Ntukekpo-led State Exco at the just-concluded polls, chances of the APC taking over the reigns of the state are high.
“The Stakeholders passed a Vote of Confidence on the APC Political Leader in Ukanafun Local Government Area; Obong (Barr) Freedom Ibritam, noting that his emergence as the Party’s Political Leader has brought direction and proper coordination of the APC in Ukanafun and therefore urged him to continue his good work.
“The Stakeholders urged the Political Leader; Obong (Barr) Ibritam to use his good offices to impress upon the the Chapter Chairman of APC in Ukanafun; Mr. Akaninyene Ukpanah to convene an enlarged meeting of the Party for the purposes of addressing the various issues such as Court case which arose from nonpayment of rent, finances, etc.
“The Ukanafun APC Stakeholders, while thanking God for protecting all the party members throughout the 2023 electioneering campaigns and elections proper, also assured all faithful of the APC in the area that the Party is waxing stronger and highly expectant of unprecedented democratic dividends as their son; His Excellency, Distinguished Sen. Godswill Akpabio will be sworn-in, not just as Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria but by the grace of God, as President of the Senate”
