The Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Policy Communications, Barr Daniel Bwala, has shed light on the administration’s efforts to strengthen national diplomacy and drive economic growth.
In an interview with Channels TV, he maintained that the President is doing well managing the economy whilst also tending to regional politics on the continent.
According to Bwala, Nigeria’s stance on Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger is clear: the country will not condone military takeovers. As a democratic institution under the ECOWAS community, Nigeria is committed to resolving problems through democratic means.
The Presidential spokesperson highlighted the administration’s economic achievements, citing a GDP growth rate of 3.46%, a drop in unemployment rates, and a decline in fuel imports. He also noted that crude oil production is approaching 2 million barrels per day, and the debt service-to-revenue ratio has dropped by 32% in 17 months.
The administration has also commenced several infrastructure projects, including the Lagos-Calabar road, Badagry to Sokoto road, and the students’ loan program. These initiatives demonstrate the President Bola Tinubu led- administration’s commitment to driving economic growth and overall development.
He addressed criticisms surrounding the acquisition of a new presidential aircraft, emphasizing that the president is the chief marketer of the government. “The new jet will enable the president to travel efficiently and effectively, attracting investors and promoting Nigeria’s interests globally,” He said.
He acknowledged that Nigeria’s economy has faced challenges since 1999 but expressed optimism about the administration’s efforts to drive progress through the strengtheningof institutions and the ongoing fundamental reforms. “The government is working to strengthen institutions, promote economic growth, and improve the lives of Nigerians.”
As the administration continues to work towards a brighter future for Nigeria, Bwala’s statements offer a glimpse into the government’s vision and commitment to driving economic growth, strengthening national diplomacy, and promoting the well-being of Nigerians.
“The President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration is resolute in its pursuit of a better Nigeria. With a focus on economic growth, national diplomacy, and institutional strengthening, the government is laying the groundwork for a brighter future. As Nigerians, it is essential that we remain supportive and patient, acknowledging the complexities of the challenges we face while also celebrating the progress made thus far.
Together, we can build a Nigeria that is prosperous, peaceful, and just for all.” He added.
