Who Told You That God Can’t Use You?”

SCRIPTURE TEXT:

Judges 6:11-16 (Paraphrase)
The angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon and said, “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior!”
Gideon replied, “If God is with us, why are we suffering?”
The Lord said, “Go and save Israel. I am sending you!”
Gideon protested, “I am the least in my family!”
The Lord assured, “I will be with you!”

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

Your past does not disqualify you, your weakness does not limit you, and your background does not define you. God’s call is greater than any excuse!

INTRODUCTION

Who told you that God can’t use you?

Who whispered in your ear and said, “You are not good enough”?

Was it your past? Your failures? Your mistakes?

Look at Gideon-hiding in fear, considering himself the weakest, yet heaven called him “Mighty Warrior!”

Many people believe they are too broken, too sinful, too unqualified for God’s work. But who told you that?

Moses stammered, yet God used him to deliver Israel.

David was a shepherd boy, yet he became a king.

Peter was uneducated, yet he became the rock of the Church.

Paul was a murderer, yet he wrote most of the New Testament.

If God could use them, why not you?

MAIN MESSAGE

Many great preachers today never attended Bible school.
Many mighty men of God never held a certificate in theology.
Yet they carry fire, yet they shake nations, yet they heal the sick and raise the dead!

Why? Because God’s anointing is not for sale!

Did they tell you that because you are from a poor family, you are finished?

Did they tell you that because you are uneducated, you cannot preach?

Did they tell you that because you failed yesterday, God has abandoned you?

WHO LIED TO YOU?

Who lied to you and told you that God only calls the perfect?

Who told you that your past has erased your future?
Who made you believe that your weaknesses are stronger than God’s power?

God knew your struggles before He called you!

Before Moses was born, God knew he would stammer.

Before David was anointed, God knew he would fall into sin.

Before Peter met Jesus, God knew he would deny Him three times.

Before Paul became an apostle, God knew he was a persecutor of Christians.

Yet, God chose them anyway!

And today, He is choosing YOU!

The world may have written you off.
Your family may have called you a failure.
Your friends may have said you are not good enough.

But God is calling your name!

Rahab was a prostitute, but she became part of the lineage of Jesus.

Ruth was a foreigner, an outcast, but she became the great-grandmother of King David.

Tamar was rejected and abandoned, but God made her the mother of the tribe of Judah.

WHO LIED TO YOU?

Who lied to you and told you that God only calls the perfect?

Who told you that your past has erased your future?
Who made you believe that your weaknesses are stronger than God’s power?

God knew your struggles before He called you!

Before Peter met Jesus, God knew he would deny Him three times.

Before Paul became an apostle, God knew he was a persecutor of Christians.

Yet, God chose them anyway!

And today, He is choosing YOU!

The world may have written you off.
Your family, your husband, your Church members…may have called you a failure.

But God is calling your name!

Rahab was a prostitute, but she became part of the lineage of Jesus.

Ruth was a foreigner, an outcast, but she became the great-grandmother of King David.

Tamar was rejected and abandoned, but God made her the mother of the tribe of Judah.

Jephthah was born from a harlot and was cast out by his own people, but God made him a mighty warrior and judge over Israel.

The demon-possessed man in Gadara-he was naked, out of his mind, living in tombs, but Jesus restored him, and he became an evangelist to ten cities!

Mary Magdalene might have been in a similar state- no one even knows her father’s name, yet she was the first to see Jesus after His resurrection and became a messenger of the gospel!

If God could use them, why do you think He can’t use you?

Heaven is waiting for your answer!
Will you keep running, or will you surrender?

REFLECTIONS & TAKEAWAY

Your scars do not disqualify you-they are proof that you survived!

Your pain does not mean God has left you-it means He is preparing you!

Your failures are not your identity-your destiny is bigger than your history!

The same people who mocked you today will look for you tomorrow!

It is not about where you came from, but where God is taking you!

PRAYER POINTS

1. Oh Lord, as You made a way for Rahab, Tamar, Jephthah, and Gideon-those whom the world rejected-please make a way for me! Let Your mercy rewrite my story!

2. Father, where men have counted me out, let Your anointing count me in! Lift me from the dust and set me among princes!

3. Every lie of the enemy that says I am not good enough, I reject it today! I step boldly into my divine assignment, in Jesus’ Name!
