The Devil is Not Afraid of Your Beginning

New Mercies Daily!

MESSAGE TITLE:

“The Devil is Not Afraid of Your Beginning!”

DATE: 09/02/25

BY: EFFIONG ETOK – CARRIER OF GOD’S WORD

SCRIPTURE TEXT:

Ecclesiastes 7:8 – “Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.”

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

The enemy doesn’t mind how you start; he is terrified of you finishing strong!

MESSAGE

There is something powerful about beginnings. The excitement, the passion, the fresh energy that comes with stepping into something new!

Remember the joy you had when you accepted Jesus?
The fire to pray, the hunger for God’s Word, the zeal to share your salvation with others.

Remember when you first started school?
You had dreams, goals, and expectations. The future looked bright!

Remember when your marriage started?
The love, the commitment, the promise to stand together no matter what.

Remember when you started ministry?
The excitement of being used by God, the burden for souls, the desire to make an impact.

But over time, distractions, battles, disappointments, and delays started creeping in. The fire began to fade.

The truth is, the devil is not afraid of your beginning. He doesn’t mind how passionately you start, because he knows that if he can wear you out, frustrate you, and attack you enough, you may never finish what God called you to do.

1. The Enemy Always Attacks After the Beginning.

Look through the Scriptures-whenever God starts something powerful, the enemy immediately fights to stop it:

Jesus was born, and immediately Herod sought to kill Him (Matthew 2:16).

Joseph had a dream, and immediately his brothers sold him into slavery (Genesis 37:18-20).

David was anointed, but immediately Saul tried to kill him (1 Samuel 18:8-11).

The enemy doesn’t fight your beginning-he fights your finishing!

That’s why:

Many students drop out of school even though they started with excitement.

Many marriages start with love but later face storms that try to tear them apart.

Many ministries start strong but experience withdrawals and slow decline over time.

The goal of the enemy is to ensure you never finish what you started!

2. Child of God, Speak to Every Power That Wants to Stop You!

Every force waging against your family’s peace-rebuke it in Jesus’ name!

Every attack against your children’s success-cancel it in Jesus’ name!

Every obstacle blocking your business, your ministry, your destiny-scatter it in Jesus’ name!

3. Declare: “I Will Finish Strong!”

Jesus did not stop halfway—He finished His assignment and said, “It is finished!”

Paul said, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course” (2 Timothy 4:7).

God does not bless starters-He rewards finishers!

CLOSING PRAYER POINTS:

1. Oh Lord! Every battle that started after my calling-every unseen force fighting my progress, my purpose, my family, my career, my ministry-let it be crushed by Your power!
Lord, I cry out today-do not let me be a victim of unfinished assignments!
Every voice of delay, every power trying to stop what You have started in me, let it be silenced by fire, in Jesus Mighty name. Amen!

2. Father, every weight of discouragement, every storm of affliction, every setback that has made me feel like quitting-let it be broken!
Lord, I refuse to abandon what You have called me to do!
Where I am weary, strengthen me!
Where I am broken, heal me!
Every chain of delay, every voice saying “It is too late,” be destroyed by the power of the Holy Ghost!
I declare-I will not give up, I will not stop halfway, in Jesus Mighty name. Amen!

3. Lord, just as Jesus fulfilled His assignment, let me complete what You have called me to do!
My Father, my God-do not let me be listed among those with unfinished purpose!
Every force waging war against my family’s peace, my children’s success, my parents’ joy, my divine calling-be destroyed by fire!
O Lord, hold my hand! Even in my weakness, do not let me fall! Even in my pain, do not let me surrender!
Father, let me finish strong!
When the books of my life are opened, let heaven rejoice that I completed my race,in Jesus Mighty name. Amen!
