The Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms ably chaired by Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, has commenced further engagements with critical stakeholders on the far-reaching and transformational proposals its put forward to reconfigure the Nigerian tax systems and tax administration.
The proposed reforms are intended to simplify the Nigerian tax system, eliminate multiple taxation, cut tax burden on individuals and small-scale businesses, and promote ease of doing business.
A 2-days subnational consultation has opened at the Congress Hall, Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, today 16th January, where these proposals will further be discussed by critical stakeholders from the 36 States and the FCT.
The consultative meeting is attended by Governors, Commissioners of Finance, Chairmen of States Internal Revenue Service, Accountants General and Attorneys General from the 36 States and FCT.
