The governor of Sokoto state, Ahmad Aliyu has approved the sum of N200,000.00 (two hundred thousand Naira) for all school principals in the state. Confirming the initiative in a release he personally signed, the governor said the gesture was to enhance educational performance and strengthen efficiency in the sector.
He said “I approved a monthly allowance of N200,000 for school principals to enhance educational performance in our state’s basic education system.
This significant financial support aims to strengthen education and improve efficiency in the sector, marking an important step toward enhancing the quality of education in Sokoto.
The allowance will empower principals to implement innovative educational programs and resources, which will lead to improved learning outcomes for students, as well as increased motivation and morale among staff”.
Shedding more light on the motivation behind the government’s latest financial support, the governor further hinted that it would foster a positive school environment, while benefiting both the students and the schools.
“Providing financial support to school leaders will boost their motivation, encouraging them to take on greater responsibilities in fostering a positive school environment.
With these additional funds, principals can allocate resources more effectively, ensuring that schools are equipped with the necessary tools and materials for effective teaching and learning.
The allowance can also facilitate professional development opportunities for school staff, resulting in better-trained educators who can deliver high-quality education.
“By investing in school leadership, this initiative encourages greater community involvement in education, fostering partnerships that benefit both students and schools.
This initiative reflects the Sokoto State Government’s commitment to prioritizing education and ensuring that every child has access to quality learning experiences.
