…publishes contact numbers

The Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State, CP Baba Mohammed Azare has urged members of the public to feel free to call his personal telephone number and those of the Principal Officers of the command with a view to ensuring transparency and accountability in policing.
The State’s Police boss’s advice was contained in a press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Akwa Ibom State Police Command, DSP Timfon John, a copy of which was obtained by our correspondent.
The release tagged ‘When You See Something, Say Something’ read: “In line with the commitment to transparency and accountability by the Akwa Ibom State Police Command, the Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare fsi, has directed that his GSM number, along with those of the principal officers in the Command, be made available to the public.
The public is hereby advised to make judicious use of these numbers by promptly reporting incidents and providing relevant information to the police”.
It would be recalled that the new Police Commissioner had, during his recent visit to the state governor, Pastor Umo Eno, assured of effective policing strategies that would guarantee a safe and secure Akwa Ibom State.
