… approves N25k ‘Improved Package’ for pensioners
The governor of Osun state, Mr. Ademola Adeleke has announced December 1, 2024 as commencement date for the New Minimum Wage for workers under the State government’s employ.
It would be recalled that the state government had earlier announced a New Minimum Wage of N75,554.28 to all categories of workers in the state.
Speaking on the commencement of the new wage regime, the governor also added in a release he posted on his verified social media handle that the sum of N25,000 has been approved as improved package for all pensioners in the state.
He said “Sequel to the earlier announced new minimum wage for public workers in Osun State, I am elated to announce 1st of December, 2024, as the date for the implementation of the payment of N75,554.28 to all categories of workers, including local government employees across the State.
This includes payment of one month arrears to all public servants in the State.
Additionally, a sum of N25,000 has been approved as an improved pension package across board for all pensioners in the state. This is in consideration of the plight of our senior citizens in this current economic situation”
Recall also that Rivers State was the first to commence the implementation of the new minimum wage of N85,000 which had been paid to its workers.
Just yesterday, Kaduna state government announced the commencement of payment of the new minimum wage of N75,000 to workers in the state.
