NSIT ATAI CHAIRMAN PRESENTS N5.894B BUDGET

The Chairman of Nsit Atai Local Government Council, Hon. (Prince) Anthony Nyong, has presented the N5.894 billion Naira budget for 2025 fiscal year to the legislature.

The budget which is christened “budget of hope for 2025” was presented recently during the last sitting of the local government legislature to end the year 2024 at Odot.

Addressing the legislature, the chairman said out of the total budget size of five billion eight hundred and ninety four million naira, (N5,894,000,000), Two billion, five hundred and twenty million is (N2,520,000,000) is for recurrent expenditure while Three billion, three hundred and seventy four million (N3,374,000,000) is for current expenditure.

He further stated that the 2025 budget benefited from the participation of various stakeholders and citizens’ engagements, stressing that the budget complied with all mandatory budget due processes which allows for utilization of transparent quality metrics for project implementation.

The Nsit Atai Council boss indicates plan to establish a reliable and inclusive human empowerment mechanism that is gender-sensitive and youth-focused. Adding that the budget when passed into law will enable his administration translate his campaign promises to concrete realities.

According to the chairman, “Hon leader and members of the legislature, the NGF IPSAS Appropriation Bill of Nsit Atai Local Government christened ‘Budget of Hope’ will propel economic growth and achieve wealth creation, employment generation, and poverty reduction. This is inline with the ARISE AGENDA of Governor Umo Eno. This budget is a chance for our administration to show our responsiveness to the current economic situation. Our Governor is devoted to promoting development, wealth creation, and peace. To achieve this, my administration will concentrate on the critical success factors of the Governor’s ARISE AGENDA developmental plan”.

He pledged a transparent and thorough process in the implementation of the budget when passed into law.

The budget breakdown shows that 2025 budget outlay represents a 1.22% increment from the 2024 budget of 4.832 Billion Naira.

Receiving the budget, the Leader of the 8th Nsit Atai Legislative Council, Hon Ubong Udoeyo thanked the chairman for the timely fulfillment of his constitutional requirement by laying the budget before the house, and promised expeditious legislative action on the budget to enable Nsit Atai people reap the full benefits representations.

The leader informed the council chairman that the legislative arm will monitor the budget implementation and performance through oversight functions to ensure full implementation of the bill when passed into law.
