Kwara records lowest inflation rate, says NBS report

…as Gov Abdulrazaq distributes relief materials to victims of fire outbreak

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has declared Kwara as the state with the lowest Food Inflation rate in Nigeria on Year-on-Year basis in November 2024.

In its latest Consumer Price Index and Inflation (CPI) report, NBS put the figures on YoY basis for Kwara at 31.39%; Kogi (32.95%); and Rivers (32.27) respectively.

In contrast, Sokoto ( 51.30%); Yobe (46.69%); and Edo (47.77) had the highest rise in Nigeria.

The latest NBS report underscores Kwara’s progress in strengthening Agriculture practices and food security in the state, owing to the huge investment of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in supporting farmers with seedlings, fertilisers and other farm inputs for improved harvesting in the last year.

…Gov Abdulrazaq Distributes Relief Materials to Victims of Fire Outbreak

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara state and Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) Chairman has sent relief materials to the victims of the recent fire outbreak Alh. Haruna Kannike Shopping Complex in Ipata, Ilorin Kwara State.

The government team that delivered the relief materials which comprised foam mattresses, bags of cement, blankets, foodstuff, etc., to the victims of the fire outbreak, was led by Alhaji Abdul-Razhaq Abubakar Jiddah, the Special Adviser on Special Duties to His Excellency Governor Abdulrazaq.

Present at the handing over of the relief materials on Monday were staff of Kwara State Emergency Agency, including its secretary, Mashood Magaji, the chairmen of Ilorin East and Ilorin South local governments, Hon. Lukman Olayinka Garba and Hon. Majeed Podo, respectively.

Hon. Jiddah commiserated with the victims of the fire disaster and added that Governor Abdulrazaq prioritises Kwarans’ welfare and would do everything possible to prevent future recurrence of the fire disaster he described as very unfortunate.
