God Rewrote The Law Because Five Rejected Women Asked

# NEW MERCIES DAILY!

MESSAGE TITLE: “God Rewrote The Law Because Five Rejected Women Asked”

DATE: 21/02/25

BY: EFFIONG ETOK

Carrier of God’s Word

SCRIPTURE REFERENCE:

“And Moses brought their case before the Lord. And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: ‘The daughters of Zelophehad speak what is right…’” (Numbers 27:5-7)

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
“When life shuts the door, take your case to God-He doesn’t just open doors, He rewrites the rules!”

MESSAGE

Have you ever been denied something-not because you lacked ability, not because you weren’t qualified, but simply because of who you are? Have you ever been overlooked, mistreated, or told, “This is not for you”?

There are people today who live under laws of exclusion-not just written laws, but unspoken ones:

•“People like you don’t belong here.”

•“This is how it has always been.”

•“You are not the right gender, section, tribe, background, or status.”

The daughters of Zelophehad lost their father, and because they had no brothers, the law dictated that they had no inheritance. The land that should have been theirs was being taken away.

It was not their fault-the law had simply never considered women worthy enough to inherit land.

There are people today suffering not because they are wrong, but because they were never considered.

Many people in their position would have given up. They would have said, “This is just how things are.” But these daughters did something extraordinary:

They walked into a male-dominated space.

They stood before Moses, the priests, and the entire congregation.

They spoke with boldness, saying, “Why should our father’s name be erased?”

They were not aggressive, but they were firm.
They were not violent, but they were unshakable.

They made a demand that heaven could not ignore.

•Are You Silent in Your Pain?

Some of us have been too quiet in our pain. We have allowed systems, traditions, and generational patterns to keep us from stepping forward and asking God for change.

But today, I declare: God is still listening to bold prayers!

•Are you willing to ask?

•Are you willing to challenge the system that has oppressed you?

•Are you willing to step forward when everything says you should sit down?

Because God rewrites laws when bold people step forward!

The Most Powerful Part of This Story: They Asked, and God Responded!

Moses did not have an answer.

The leaders did not have a solution.

The law was already written.

But Moses did something that changed everything:
“Moses brought their case before the Lord.” (Numbers 27:5)

And when God answered, He rewrote history:
“The daughters of Zelophehad speak what is right… You shall grant them an inheritance.”

This is where the five daughters of Zelophehad found themselves. They were not criminals, not rebels, not outsiders-they were simply born female in a society that only recognized male heirs. And because of this, they were about to be erased.

But they refused to be silent.
They refused to accept rejection as their final answer.
And when they stood before Moses, when they presented their case-not only did Moses listen, but God Himself responded.

And because five rejected women asked, God rewrote the law! The rejection you faced yesterday will become the testimony you share tomorrow.

God is still in the business of rewriting stories, breaking barriers, and making the impossible possible!

CLOSING PRAYERS

1. O Lord, just as You rewrote the laws for the daughters of Zelophehad, please rewrite every human law that has worked against me, my household, in Jesus’ Mighty name. Where my name was not included, Father, divinely position me for elevation!

2. O Lord, where my family was forgotten, bring us into remembrance and honor, in the name of Jesus! Every legal, economic, governmental, and organizational structure that has been positioned to hinder my progress and that of my family, let them be overturned, in the name of Jesus!

3. Every decision that must have been taken in the spiritual realm against me and my family, O Lord, overturn it, in the name of Jesus! Every evil gathering, every conspiracy, every demonic counsel against me and my household-be scattered, in the name of Jesus. Amen!
