The suspended governor of Rivers State, His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara has described as false and misleading the stories making the rounds that he was seeking asylum in neighboring Bayelsa state.
In a ‘public announcement’ signed by his SA on Social/New Media, Seigha Edwin Adedeji, the embattled governor also noted that the photographs and reports suggesting that he attended the meeting of the PDP’s Governor’s Forum were all falsehood, describing them as handiwork of detractors.
The statement notes “Our attention has been drawn to misleading reports circulating on social media, earlier today claiming that His Excellency, the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, is seeking asylum at the Bayelsa State Government House, along with other photos suggesting his presence at the PDP Governor’s Forum meeting in Asaba, Delta State”.
While urging the general public to disregard the misleading publications, the release states “We categorically state that these reports are false and should be disregarded. They are the handiwork of detractors bent on spreading misinformation.
We urge the public to rely only on verified sources for accurate information”.
