COMMUNIQUÉ: A’Ibom APC youths pass Vote of Confidence on President Tinubu, shun protests

…as NDDC Commissioner, Apostle Nkono meets Youth Stakeholders

A COMMUNIQUE AT THE END OF THE YOUTH STAKEHOLDERS’ MEETING WITH THE STATE REPRESENTATIVE AT THE NDDC, APOSTLE ABASIANDIKAN NKONO, HELD ON THE 31ST OF JULY 2024, AT THE PARTY SECRETARIAT, ON THE NEED TO SHELVE THE PLANNED AND SPONSORED PROTEST IN THE STATE

We the youth stakeholders of the All PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS (APC) in Akwa Ibom State, after an exhaustive deliberation with the State representative at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Apostle Abasiandikan Nkono on the need for the youths not to participate in the planned and sponsored protest, resolved as follows;

1). That the Akwa Ibom State youths will not participate in the planned and sponsored protest.

2). That we believe and very much have faith and confidence in this administration ably led by His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and his Renewed Hope Agenda.

2). That we specially, thank our Grand leader, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, President of the 10th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, for setting a peaceful atmosphere in the state, by the proactive engagement of our youths through the years, in meaningful and productive services to themselves and the society, which have brought a long known standing reputation of peace in the State since inception, as such will not want to be associated and identified with the ill-conceived protest.

3). That the demands and call for the protest is devoid of our collective interest as Niger Deltans. For example, there’s nowhere in the purported demand of the supposed planners of the ill-fated protests have the East-West Road, Ogoni Clean up, Ibom Sea Port, Mechanized Farms to generate employment or any other major project(s) or programmes that would benefit the Niger Deltans, is mentioned.

4). That the ulterior motive of the planners of the protest is skewed towards a change in government, which is treasonable, and we reject this in entirety, as we further pledge our loyalty and support for the President Tinubu-led administration.

6). That we have confidence that the Local Government Autonomy recently granted will go a long way in spreading development to the grassroots, thereby alleviating the plights of our rural dwellers.

7). That we are reassured of the Renewed Hope Agenda of this administration, by the inclusion of youths at various levels of governance in this administration.

8). Again, that we declare a Vote of Confidence in the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu due to its policies, most especially as it concerns the plight of the Nigerian workers, through the immediate implementation of national minimum wage of N70,000, reviewable in 3 years as against 5years previously; approval by Mr. President for the empowerment of 10,000 youths of Niger Delta starting from August 2024, to mention but a few.

We want to once again call on all Nigerian youths and Akwa Ibom State in particular to shelve the protest and have confidence in the Renewed Hope Agenda of this administration, even as it has started affecting the lives of many Nigerian youths positively.

SIGNED:

Dr Clement Awakessien
APC State Youth Leader
Akwa Ibom State
