…as over 50% of constituents sign
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has confirmed receipt of petition from constituents seeking to recall the senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Sen Natasha Okpoti-Uduaghan.
The petition was submitted with over 250k signatures of constituents out of about 480k registered voters. The required percentage according to electoral laws is 50% plus 1.
It would be recalled that the constituents of the senatorial district had last week, begun the process of recalling Senator Natasha, basing their actions on what they termed ‘media distractions’ which they stressed had taken over an effective representation they desired.
Natasha’s problem started when she fell out with the leadership and majority members of the 10th Senate, after she accused the Senate President, Sen. Godswill Akpabio of harassing her sexually.
