Immediate-past deputy governor of Edo State, His Excellecncy, Mr. Philip Shaibu has stated that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, was set and ready to retain Ondo State, codenamed Sunshine State at the gubernatorial election.
Shaibu, a member of the APC National Campaign Council was in Akure, the Ondo State Capital for the grand finale of the party’s campaign ahead of November 16, 2024 governorship polls in the state.
Speaking on the event, the former Edo State number two man also acknowledged the presence of other notable politicians of the APC extraction, including current Vice President; His Excellecncy, Sen Kashim Shettima, former Edo State governor and current senator, His Excellecncy, Adams Oshiomhole, governors, senators, House of Representatives members and so forth, assuring that the incumbent Ondo governor; Lucky Aiyedatiwa would be returned elected.
“As a member of the APC National Campaign Council for the November 16 Ondo State Governorship election, I joined Vice President Kashim Shettima, Governors, Senators, Rep. Members, Ministers and party leaders at the MKO Abiola Democracy Park in Akure, Ondo State, for the grand finale of the APC campaign for our governorship candidate, His Excellency, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa”, Shaibu said in his post on his verified X App (formerly Twitter) handle.
He continued “This powerful gathering is a clear indication of our party’s commitment and readiness to delivering and retaining the “Sunshine State” to Governor Aiyedatiwa and the APC through the ballot.
As the “Ofoneee Captain,” I did not come all the way from our dear state alone. I am with my father and former Governor of Edo State, Senator Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole and other leaders who made us triumph in the Edo State Governorship election.
Our presence together is a strong and powerful message to the resourceful, industrious, and hospitable people of Ondo State, “it is finished for PDP in Ondo, just as it is completely finished in Edo”.
The people of Ondo State would go to the polls on Saturday, 16, 2024 to elect their governor after the last elected governor, Late Rotimi Akeredolu SAN died few months ago. He was succeeded by his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
