As a further expression of its commitment towards calling former political office holders to account, the Network Against Corruption and Trafficking (NACAT) has guaranteed the people of Akwa Ibom State that the immediate-past governor of the state, Deacon Udom Gabriel Emmanuel will face the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to clear himself of alleged financial misappropriation.

NACAT had in a petition it submitted to the EFCC and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), accused Udom, a former banker of allegedly misappropriating the state’s fund to the tune of trillions.

“N1.5 trillion unaccounted for but N700 billion looted”, part of NACAT’s petitions dated 21st January, 2025 noted.

Reiterating its commitment towards following the case to the end, one of the members of NACAT, Fejiro Oliver noted in his statement today, “Whether Udom Emmanuel likes it or not, he WILL face EFCC, that I can guarantee Akwa Ibomites”.

Giving a brief detail of its steps and their successful outing in the past, the NACAT man continued, “This is just phase one. We are entering gear two in few weeks time. NACAT Initiative do not submit petition and go to sleep. He should ask his colleague Ifeanyi Okowa.
