As part of ongoing efforts to solidify strategic partnerships in the fight against crime, the Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Command, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, fsi, today paid a courtesy visit to the President-General of the Akwa Ibom Supreme Council of Traditional Rulers and the Palace of His Eminence, Oku Ibom Ibibio, Ntenyin Dr. Solomon Etuk, JP, CFR.
A press release endorsed by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Akwa Ibom State Command, DSP Timfon John indicated that CP Azare during the visit, emphasized the critical role of traditional institutions in maintaining peace and security across communities. He appreciated His Eminence for the warm reception and reiterated the steadfast commitment of the Command to working closely with the traditional leadership in ensuring a crime-free Akwa Ibom. CP Azare further sought their continued cooperation, noting that intelligence-sharing and grassroots collaboration remain vital in strengthening security efforts.
The Police Commissioner reaffirmed that under his watch, the Command will maintain an open-door policy, welcoming advice, opinions, and any form of assistance that will enhance the collective goal of securing lives and property.
In his response, His Eminence, Ntenyin Dr. Solomon Etuk, JP, CFR, eulogized CP Azare for his proactive approach to policing since assuming office. He assured the Commissioner of the full support of the traditional rulers across the state, pledging to sustain the long-standing cooperation between the Police and the traditional institution in fostering peace and stability.
Meanwhile, the visit further cements the resolve of the Akwa Ibom State Police Boss to deepen stakeholder engagement as part of the broader strategy to rid the entire State of criminal elements and sustain its reputation as the most peaceful state in the country.
