…as leaders, members disagree over succession plan
Some leaders and members of the Brotherhood of The Cross and Star have vehemently opposed the appointment of Roland Olumba Obu’s stepson as their new leader, as allegedly proposed by Roland Olumba’s new wife.
In an unexpected turn of events, the congregation’s refusal stemmed from his stepmother’s alleged attempt to position her own son as Roland Olumba Obu’s successor, bypassing the initially intended heir, Prince Roland Obu.
This, according to a social media influencer, OgaYene, comes amidst the turmoil which Roland Olumba Obu’s health status continues generate within the sect. It was gathered that Roland health is reportedly deteriorating as he battles cancer, further complicating the situation.
It could be recalled that Roland Olumba Obu had previously asserted that the ‘late’ founder, Olumba Olumba Obu, was still alive and residing underwater, a belief that has gained traction among his followers.
Meanwhile, a video currently trending online shows adherents of the religious sect fighting inside the worship hall. The video captured the white garment -wearing faithful destroying some valuables including portraits of the rejected leaders.
One of the adherents could be heard exclaiming, while referring to the late founder of the religious body, Olumba Olumba Obu “this is the one we worship! This is the one we worship!!”.
