Sacked NYC Publicity Secretary, Pat Reuben

In a statement signed by the Acting State Chairman of NYC, Akwa Ibom State Chapter, Comrade Joseph Ben, dated April 10, 2025 and addressed to the sacked Publicity Secretary, a copy of which is in possession of this reporter, Pat Reuben was ordered to return immediately, all the belongings of the organization to the State Secretary.

The statement captioned ‘Immediate and Irrevocable Dismissal From Office’ read “Following a comprehensive review and wide-ranging consultation with the leadership of the National Youth Caucus, NYC, Akwa Ibom State Chapter, I hereby issue this formal notice of your immediate and irrevocable dismissal from the office of Publicity Secretary”.

Stating the reasons for Pat Reuben’s removal, the statement continued “This action has become necessary due to your persistent and grievous misconduct which includes but is not limited to harassment, verbal abuse, and inflammatory attacks against the respected members of the caucus.

Your actions have extended to the dissemination of false and defamatory information, particularly targeting key leadership figures, including our esteemed National Chairman, Comrade Mark Nsimbehe”.

The statement further added “Of particular concern is your unauthorized publication in a national newspaper expressing a vote of confidence in the removed Chairman, Comrade Evans Umoren, an action that involved the use of forged signatures.

Additionally, your orchestration of secret meetings without the consent or knowledge of the Acting State Chairman is a blatant violation of established protocols and a clear affront to the leadership structure”.

The NYC leadership also frowned at Pat Reuben’s disregard for ethics and other vices, describing his attitude as unacceptable.

“Your continued disregard for the ethics, unity, and discipline that define the National Youth Caucus is both alarming and unacceptable. Despite multiple warnings and ample opportunities to amend your conduct, you have wilfully chosen a path of insubordination and disruption.

Effective immediately, you are relieved of all duties, responsibilities, and privileges associated with your former office. You are hereby directed to return all the official documents, materials and properties of the National Youth Caucus in your possession to the State Secretary without delay.

This decision reflects our firm commitment to upholding the principles of integrity, accountability, and order within our organization. Any behavior that compromises the values or reputation of the Caucus will be dealt with decisively”.
