No, died of hypoglycemia -Police
Members of Paul’s family have accused the men of the Nigeria Police of torturing their son, an action of which led to his death.
But, the police have denied the allegations, saying that Paul died of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), emphasizing that autopsy will prove it.
We were with the family of the late Paul at the hospital and mortuary yesterday. On Wednesday morning, Paul’s friend Prosper was arrested by the police and same Wednesday evening, Paul went to the police station to bail him and he was also detained.
According to Paul’s friend, he narrated that the police tortured Paul and put him on hand/legcuff. Paul collapsed at the police station and he was rushed to multiple hospitals by the police,
Paul tragically passed away at FMC Asaba on Saturday morning. The family contends that Paul’s death was a direct result of police torture.
However, in a recent press release, the police said that Paul’s death was caused by hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) and indicated that an autopsy would confirm the cause of death, without providing a clear explanation for the arrest and alleged crime of late Paul and Prosper.
