Obongawan Ekpo-oho backs Akpabio’s leadership, hails his support for women

 

 

The newly sworn-in Managing Director of the Cross River Basin Development Authority (CRBDA), Obongawan (Mrs.) Glory Ekpo-oho, has expressed appreciation to the Senate President, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, CON, for his role in supporting women in politics.

She said Akpabio’s recommendation for her current position was a demonstration of his commitment to women’s empowerment in leadership and governance.

Speaking with News men in the International Mothers’ Day, Sunday, 30th March, 2025, she described the Senate President as a leader who promotes gender inclusivity.

“I sincerely thank Senator Akpabio for his support. He has always given women a voice in governance and leadership,” she said.

She commended Akpabio for his leadership in Akwa Ibom State and the South-South region, while pledging her loyalty to him and promised to justify the confidence reposed in her.

“I will ensure that my tenure at CRBDA aligns with the development vision of our leaders. I remain committed to contributing to national growth,” she added.

Senator Akpabio has been recognized for his role in promoting women in politics and governance.

As a former governor of Akwa Ibom State, he appointed many women to key positions.

His leadership at the Senate has also reflected his belief in inclusivity and equal opportunities.
