# NEW MERCIES DAILY!

MESSAGE TITLE:

There’s More to Me Than What You See”

SCRIPTURE TEXT:

2 Kings 2:19–22 (NLT)
The people of Jericho said to Elisha, “The city is pleasant… but the water is bad and the land unproductive.”
Elisha replied, “Bring me a new bowl with salt.”
He went to the spring, threw in the salt, and said, “This is what the Lord says: I have healed this water… no more death or barrenness.”
And the water has remained pure ever since.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
You don’t have to fake being fine. The God who healed Jericho is waiting for your cry.

MAIN MESSAGE:

“This town is pleasant,” they said, “but the water is bad, and the land is unproductive.”
(2 Kings 2:19)
To the eye, Jericho was a dream-prosperous, pleasant, and full of potential-but deep within, it carried a hidden affliction. Beneath the beauty, it silently suffered through bitter waters and barren ground.

And because of this, the people couldn’t celebrate. They couldn’t give God the praise He truly deserved, because something was always wrong.

Isn’t that where many of us are?

We look pleasant. We smile. But deep within, many of us are silently battling bitter springs-joblessness, delayed marriage, broken homes, childlessness, sickness, poverty, and deep fears about our children’s future. Our lives feel stuck… unproductive… withheld from giving God the glory we were created for.

You know you should be further by now. You know your life should be bearing fruit. But the bitterness within has made you withdraw. You don’t testify. You don’t share. You can’t even rejoice publicly for fear someone might ask, “But what about that issue in your life?”

You hide the pain.
You cover the tears.
You dance, but deep down, you wonder, “Lord, when will You fix this?”

The same God who healed Jericho is still healing today.

He sent Elisha-not to ignore the pain, but to confront it. Not to bless the land alone, but to heal the spring. “Bring me a new bowl with salt…” (v.20) Elisha poured it into the water and declared, “Thus saith the Lord, I have healed this water.” (v.21)

Today, God says: “Give Me that bitter place. Let Me heal the part of you that robs Me of public glory.”

You’ve hidden long enough.
You’ve pretended long enough.
Cry out.
Ask the God of Jericho to heal the bitter water and the barren land of your life.

TAKEAWAY STATEMENT:

Your beauty, your potential, your fruitfulness are meant to give God glory. Let Him touch the bitter places and heal you completely.

CLOSING PRAYER POINTS:

1. Lord, please look beyond the pleasant mask I wear and see the deep wounds within my soul. I ask You-heal me where it hurts the most. Let Your mercy reach into the places I no longer have the strength to touch.

2. O God of Jericho, I humbly ask You to stretch forth Your hand and touch the bitter waters of my life. Please restore every area that has remained unfruitful, and make what is barren flourish again.

3. Heavenly Father, I lift my voice and cry out to You-please don’t pass me by. Let Your healing virtue flow into every hidden scar, every silent struggle, every buried pain I’ve carried for years. In Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen.
