P/Harcourt’s 50.15km Ring Road with 6 flyovers awarded to Julius Berger at N195b

…to be completed in 36 months

The new Port Harcourt Ring Road Project that is being done by Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State is a trailblazing initiative by a State Government with regards to the provision of road infrastructure.

It’s currently the most ambitious road project in the South South and South East of Nigeria.

At the heart of Rivers State, Nigeria, the Port Harcourt Ring Road Project stands as a monumental infrastructure initiative.

Spanning 50.15 kilometers, this dual carriageway interlinks six local government areas: Port Harcourt, Obio-Akpor, Ikwerre, Etche, Eleme, and Ogu-Bolo.

Boasting six flyovers and a river-crossing bridge for enhanced transportation efficiency, the project is executed by Julius Berger Nigeria Plc. Awarded in July 2023, the endeavor is expected to conclude within 36 months, with an estimated total cost of N195 billion.

The project is progressing steadily and, according to pundits, will stand as a glittering legacy of Governor Sim Fubara.

“To engage Julius Berger to construct a 50 kilometers six lanes super highway with six flyovers and several bridges across six LGAs is no mean feat.

Only a Governor with a strong political will, and someone that has taste can do that”, a commentator said.
