President of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed his sympathies to the Donald Trump administration over an American Airlines Jet crash.
The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday in Washington D.C when a Bombardier plane, operated by an American Airlines subsidiary, was approaching Reagan National Airport at around 9:00 pm (0200 GMT) after flying from Wichita, Kansas. A passenger plane carrying 64 passengers and crew crashed into a river in the capital after a mid-air collision with a US Army helicopter.
This resulted in dozens of lives feared dead.
Nigeria’s President Thursday condoles the affected victims in the United States, extolling the emergency response team on recovering over nineteen bodies at this time reporting.
“I am deeply saddened by the tragic incident in Washington, D.C,” Tinubu said.
“On behalf of Nigeria, I extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, the people of the United States, and all affected by this profound loss.
President Tinubu, however, commended the courageous efforts of first responders and emergency teams for their selfless work in harsh conditions.
The President elucidated that “Nigeria stands in solidarity with the United States Government and its People, united in grief and hopeful for a new day.”
