Popular Tiktoker, Olumide Ogunsanwo a.k.a Seaking has finally regained freedom. This was confirmed by his lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, Esq.
Explaining how the Tiktoker was released, Effiong noted that after Olumide was arrested for alleged treason and cyberstalking on 20th December last year and taken to the Ogba Magistrate Court with intent to be remanded, their legal team opposed the remand application.
Effiong said “We just departed the Maximum Security Custodial Centre, Kirikiri with TikToker, Olumide Ogunsanwo alias Seaking.
He was arrested on 20th December, 2024 by the Nigeria Police Force and taken to the Ogba Magistrate Court in Lagos on 23rd December, 2024 to be remanded for 30 days for alleged treason, cyberstalking over his viral TikTok video against the police”.
Praising the presiding Magistrate for being courageous in granting the application for Olumide’s bail, Barr Inibehe noted however that the Christmas and New Year holidays had prevented his immediate release.
“We opposed the remand application and he was granted bail instead by the very courageous Magistrate.
However, due to the Christmas and new year holidays and administrative reasons, we could not perfect his bail immediately.
Today, the bail perfection process was concluded and his release warrant signed.
I went with Omoyele Sowore and other activists to personally secure his release”, the fierce lawyer concluded.
