Amidst unending political turmoil in Rivers State, the governor, Sir Sim Fubara has continued to draw tangible dividends of democracy to his people.

One of such dividends is the commissioning today of an 11.8km Okehi-Umuola-Eberi Link Road, which the State’s Chief Executive described as not just a road, but a testament to resilience and dedication to the objective of service.

In a post-event comment, Governor Fubara also said that he paid the new minimum wage of N85,000.00 (eighty five thousand Naira), which is fifteen thousand Naira higher than the national minimum wage without borrowing funds.

He said “Today, we made a bold statement on what true leadership is about by delivering positive results beginning with the commissioning of a road infrastructure project that spans Etche and Omuma Local Government Areas.

The 11.8km Okehi-Umuola-Eberi Link Road is more than a road; it is a testament to resilience and dedication to the objective of serving Rivers people”.

While soliciting the continued support of Rivers people, Fubara noted “Without borrowing funds, we have diligently prioritized projects, paid salaries, and implemented N15,000 above the N70,000 national minimum wage for our civil servants. With your support, we will continue building a Rivers State that works for all”.

Recall that the oil-rich Rivers State has been plunged into serious political turmoil, following the the governor’s face-off with his erstwhile political godfather, boss and immediate-past predecessor, Chief Nyesom Wike.
