…how Ex-gov Udom allegedly wasted N32b
As part of his group’s ongoing investigation into the eight years tenure of the immediate-past governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel, a member of the Network Against Corruption and Trafficking, NACAT, Mr Fejiro Oliver has revealed how a whooping N32 billion pension and gratuities saved during Chief Godswill Akpabio’s tenure as governor, was allegedly squandered by his successor, Udom.

Godswill Akpabio, Udom Emmanuel and the N32 billion looted pension & gratuities
The year was 2014 and the then Akwa Ibom State Governor, Godswill Akpabio came up with an idea, to help workers save money towards their retirement.
Noble idea
The State Government decided to deduct monies from the civil servants salaries and these were kept in three banks namely UBA, union and the defunct Skye bank now Polaris Bank.
N32 billion saved was sent Skye bank. Akpabio never touched the money till he left government.
Then came in Udom Emmanuel and he struck.
First he told Skye Bank to give him N3 billion of the workers pension and guess what it was for?
He said it will be used to buy cars for the lawmakers in 2015. N3 billion was moved to Zenith Bank and the cost of car then was about N45 million per lawmaker and they were just 32 members. You can guess what happened.
That was how he wasted civil servants pension, the poor money saved for them by Akpabio, likened to reaping in Naboth’s vineyard.
While he grudgingly paid some civil servants, teachers who formed bulk of those who were deducted never got paid till he left office.
Out of the N32 billion, he also ordered that N500 million should be sent to Ministry of Agric to set up Palm Estate with his brother in charge. He claimed he was taking it as a loan from the money in Skye bank but the so called loan was never paid back into the pension account. And the Palm Estate was not done.
Most of the pensioners are all dead today, with them not getting the money they saved. They died of hunger and sickness while Udom enjoyed their sweat.
If he thinks he will escape this EFCC judgement, he should think again. He either come to account or EFCC just close their offices and stop arresting yahoo boys.
The blood of the dead pensioners are the ones crying for vengeance and Michael Ekpo , Victor Sage Thompson , myself and the millions of Akwa Ibom are just the voices they are using to revenge.

Never again will they live in big houses that their salaries can buy. Never again will they carry women with your funds. Never again will they oppress you with stolen wealth as we will monitor them with you as our eyes and volunteers.
